Christmas is such an inspiring time of the year so if you have some time it’s fun to do some Christmassy crafts for yourself or make gifts and cards for others.
Santa Pebbles
These were fun to make using small white pebbles from one of my pot plants. You will need rocks and pebbles, acrylic paint, paint brushes of various sizes, paint pens (posca pens), clear varnish or spray and a pot of water. Acrylic paint is great to use because it is fast drying and easy to wash out of the brushes with water.
Christmas Gift Tags
This FREE page of Christmas gift tags is easy to download and print at home! I would recommend printing onto 200gsm white card stock or adhesive sticker paper and then trim around edges with scissors following the key line.
Christmas Cards
Even though commercial cards are available everywhere and there is a huge assortment to choose from, it is nice to make your own and surprise someone!
If you don’t want to draw your own design you can use digital graphics to upload direct to an online card printer (such as VistaPrint) to print out professionally, or you could create your own digital card using these graphics to print out at home. The graphics are high resolution and perfect for both digital and print use and can be used within most software or apps (Photoshop, Word, Indesign, Canva, Social Media etc).
Repaint your garden gnomes
If your ceramic, cement or metal garden Santa’s are looking a bit tired and washed out, why not give them a fresh coat of paint rather than throw them out. For outdoor ornaments I use acrylic exterior house paint which you can have mixed in a variety of colours from Bunnings or other hardware stores.
Wood slice ornaments
I purchased these wood slices from Life of Colour. You will need, acrylic paint, paint brushes of various sizes, paint pens (posca pens or life of colour pens), glitter glue and a pot of water. Acrylic paint is great to use because it is fast drying and easy to wash out of the brushes with water (kids should wear a smock!).
